Eric Bana and Rachel McAdams play star-crossed lovers whose lives intersect across a lifetime in 'The Time Traveler's Wife,' based on the best-selling Audrey Niffenegger novel. But before talking time travel, the pair talks to ET about the movie's nude scenes!

Aussie hunk Eric asks Rachel, "All your nude scenes were cut. How did that happen? I stupidly assumed that because it was PG-13, that even though it was written that there was nudity, that there was no chance there [would be] nudity. … I lost my clothes quite a few times. But I always kept my back to camera. I kept it safe."

Meanwhile, Rachel says that although time travel is a crucial element of the plot, it was the timeless romance of the story that hooked her.

"I love 'Back to the Future' -- if I had to pick a time-travel film that was pretty great, that would be it," she tells ET. "But I didn't have an intense fascination with time travel [before making the movie]. It was more that I read the book and time travel was just a unique element of a really great love story."

"I just saw it as a device to arrange these two characters [who are] apart who are really wanting to be together," agrees Eric, "and it was very moving as a result."

But if either Eric or Rachel could travel through time, what would they do? Where would they go?

"We were saying earlier how it would be fun to see great bands in their heyday, you know, in their hometown as they're breaking out," says Eric, "and I was saying I'd like to see Elvis in his jumpsuit in Vegas. That would be awesome."

"Not the young Elvis, but Vegas Elvis," interjects Rachel. "And I want to see Jesus. Because that might clear some things up, right?"

"I wouldn't want to mess with the whole thing too much," continues Eric about time travel. "I think those Dominos are stacked pretty uniquely for everyone, and it's kind of interesting how our lives roll out, and how they take us to places and to people, that we don't know what's happening tomorrow. That's the beauty of it. I'd much rather go backwards than forwards, I've got no interest in knowing what's going to happen in the future."
