The Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon had another successful year, raising $60.5 million dollars for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
This year's telethon didn't quite top last year's record of $65 million. Regardless, Lewis thanked the American people during his Labor Day telethon, hailing the money raised as an amazing accomplishment, despite the tough economy, the Associated Press reports.
The money raised will go to research, public health education and support services to fight muscular dystrophy and its 40 related conditions.
