Screen legend Lauren Bacall is being honored for her work -- celebrating 65 years in the business since her movie debut in 1944.
Bacall starred alongside Humphrey Bogart in her first film, 'To Have and Have Not,' and has appeared in more than 30 Hollywood films. She earned an Oscar nomination for 'The Mirror Has Two Faces' in 1996.
The New York born actress will be on hand at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences inaugural Governors Awards event to receive an Honorary Award from the Academy. The Honorary Award, an Oscar statuette, is given to an individual for "extraordinary distinction in lifetime achievement, exceptional contributions to the state of motion picture arts and sciences, or for outstanding service to the Academy."
Producer-director Roger Corman, and cinematographer Gordon Willis will also receive Honorary Awards. The Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award -- given to creative producer with consistently high quality work -- will be presented to producer-executive John Calley.
