"Dancing with the Stars"' pro dancers paid tribute to the legendary dance career of the late Patrick Swayze by performing a medley of his signature numbers.
Through training for "Dancing with the Stars," Ashley Hamilton formed an appreciation for the talent that Patrick possessed. Ashley's partner, Edyta Sliwinska, said, "Patrick Swayze probably inspired 90% of us to start dancing, so we're very touched."
From watching the pro dancers perform the tribute routine, Debi Mazar said, "I had to hold back my tears because Jennifer Grey's a friend of mine and I saw Cheryl [Burke] do the dance with Tony [Dovolani]. It was one of those moments that you remember very clearly because dancing came back in that moment in a certain way."
She offered her own tribute to Patrick, saying, "To lose such a great talent and to see his strength in fighting prostate cancer and going to work was just incredible."
Derek Hough said, "We're honored and privileged to be able to do that for him, his family, and all of his fans."
Professional Maksim Chmerkovskiy added, "I wish we could also do a Michael Jackson tribute."
