Mackenzie Phillips appeared on the CBS "Early Show" to talk about the impact of her startling revelation that she had an incestuous relationship with her father.

The former "One Day at a Time" child star created a stir when she documented a 10-year consensual sexual relationship with dad John Phillips in her memoir, High on Arrival.

"I was hoping to help incest survivors and find some redemption and freedom," she said on the "Early Show."

"I never expected this huge national dialogue," she added. "I never expected the rape and incest network to have a 82 percent rise in hits on their website a 26 percent rise in telephone calls."

Though her family is split in their reaction to the news, Mackenzie has emerged as a voice speaking out against abuse.
