Michelle Obama spoke to Prevention Magazine for the publication's November issue. Read on to see what she had to say about balancing her life in the White House.
The First Lady said that Barack Obama's "emotional honesty" is one of the things that she finds attractive about him.
Mrs. Obama credits her mother for teaching her to balance the many facets of her busy life. She said, "She'd say being a good mother isn't all about sacrificing; it's really investing and putting yourself higher on your priority list."
Finding a healthy balance is just what the First Lady has done both before and after moving into 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. She admitted to being a "closet jock" and squeezing in early morning workout sessions before having to feed the babies when her daughters were younger.
She may make the conscious effort to exercise, but she certainly does not deprive herself of the sweet delicacies the White House chefs prepare. She said, "There are some great bakers hereā¦If you like a pie, it will be there-always-at every meal." She maintains that she doesn't institute a "no junk food rule," but teaches her daughters not to indulge on a regular basis.
