Gwyneth Paltrow is back to reprise her role as Pepper Potts in 'Iron Man 2.' ET's Mark Steines sat down with her to find out what is in store for her character in the upcoming sequel.
The actress told ET that the movie picks up where the first installment of the 'Iron Man' series left off. She said, "There's that sexual tension" between Pepper and Tony Stark/Iron Man (played by Robert Downey, Jr.), "but they're still assistant and boss."
It does seem like there are some career advancements on the horizon for Paltrow's character. She said, "Things progress for Pepper professionally." However, Pepper does feel threatened by the new assistant that enters the storyline, played by Scarlett Johansson.
On screen rivalry aside, Paltrow is happy to welcome another female to the male dominated cast. She said, "I love all the boys, but it's nice to have a girlfriend there…We talk about cooking."
After having children, the mom of two is proud of the shape she is in to sport Pepper's costumes. She promises to show "more skin" and rock "all the big high-heels" in the film, but also has to dress professionally because of her promotion.
The Oscar-winner spoke about working with the co-star Jon Favreau, who also serves as the director and producer of the film. She said he "is a very collaborative, calm person…He's not easily flappable…He's the head of the ship and he's hired a great group of people."
Paltrow has uprooted her family to Southern California while shooting 'Iron Man 2.' She finds the area to be "hospitable for children." They have enjoyed swimming, body painting, and picnicking on the lawn.
The actress uses the art of acting as a way to escape her daily demands and to "delve into someone else's mind and heart and psyche." For more cast interviews from the set of 'Iron Man 2,' click here.
