ET brings you footage of attorney Gerald Shargel speaking out following his client Robert Halderman's arraignment in the David Letterman extortion case.

"There is another side to the story, and if I just listened to what prosecutors said, I would have been out of business a long time ago," Shargel said at a press conference.

"This story is far more complicated than what you heard this afternoon," he continued. "This story is far more complicated than that two-minute statement by the assistant district attorney."

He added that Halderman, who stands accused of attempting to extort $2 million from Letterman, is "doing as well as can be expected. He's not dispirited."
