Joe Jackson received a Brenden Celebrity Star on Tuesday night prior to screening Michael Jackson's 'This is It' at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas.

He told ET, "I think it's a fantastic thing to be able to accept a star. I accept it because of my son."

Joe's star, engraved with "Joseph Jackson & Family," will be placed next to Michael's star. The Jackson father said this arrangement is "a very special privilege." He thinks Michael would "be proud" of his father's accomplishment.

Johnny Brenden of Brenden Theatres unveiled the star tribute to Joe and his family. He told ET, "Joe Jackson is the patriarch of the Jackson family…I felt it was an honor to unveil."

After screening 'This is It,' a film made from Michael's recorded concert rehearsals, Joe said his son "did fantastic" and that "he knew what he was doing."

'This is It' is now showing in both IMAX and conventional movie theaters.
