Zooey Deschanel joins sis Emily Deschanel for an episode of the hit FOX series, "Bones."
In this first-ever on-screen pairing of the Deschanel sisters, Zooey plays Margaret Whitesell, a distant relative of Dr. Temperance Brennan (Emily). When Brennan 's father, Max Keenan (guest star Ryan O'Neal), makes contact with Margaret, he invites her to spend Christmas with him and his daughter.
Also in the episode, Brennan and Booth (David Boreanaz) investigate the death of a man dressed as Santa Claus who was blown up after a botched bank robbery.
The holiday-themed "The Goop on the Girl" episode airs Thursday, Dec. 10 at 8 p.m. on FOX.
In other "Bones" news, the milestone 100th episode will be directed by Boreanaz and will air in spring 2010.
