The 62-year-old British star announced on his Web site Saturday that his concerts scheduled for November 4 and November 7 in Seattle -- and November 10 in Portland -- would be postponed because the singer had been "advised by his doctor to postpone these performances due to a serious case of e-coli bacterial infection and influenza."

People with tickets to the Seattle and Portland shows are being asked to hold on to their tickets as organizers try to reschedule the three shows.

Earlier in the week, Sir Elton postponed UK shows, with a message on the star's Web site notifying fans that he "continues to be unwell and is unable to perform."
