Christmas Comes Early at Weekend Box Office

Moviegoers were in the holiday spirit as Disney's 'A Christmas Carol' topped the weekend box office, making $31 million, studio estimates report.

Coming in at No. 2 was the documentary 'Michael Jackson's This Is It,' pulling in $14 million in its second week in theaters.

'The Men Who Stare at Goats' -- starring George Clooney and Ewan McGregor -- made $13.3 million in its opening weekend, while the alien encounter film 'The Fourth Kind' grossed $12.5 million.

Rounding out the top five highest grossing movies at the weekend box office was 'Paranormal Activity', making $8.6 million.
