ET has the latest...
ET spoke with Adam Lambert this morning just after his "Early Show" appearance where he told us he understood why "Good Morning America" canceled his performance.
"ABC did what they needed to do," he told ET. "I respect their decision. They probably have a lot of politics going on behind the scenes that I don't know about. I just want to do a concert and sing. I'm glad that we got to give a show to the fans who came out. A lot of them traveled to New York so I'm glad that they got a show. That's what matters."
Meanwhile, "Early Show" reporter Maggie Rodriguez said she found Lambert to be very mature and didn't understand why he wouldn't be invited to explain his side of the story.
"I think it was a no-brainer to have him on to answer to his critics, which he did in a very forthcoming way this morning," she told ET. "He was unapologetic, but at the same time admitted that he got carried away and that he's learned from the experience, which I thought was very mature."
