Jim Bob Duggar has reportedly provided an update on the health of his and wife Michelle's new infant Josie, born three months premature.

According to ABC News, dad Jim Bob of TLC's "18 Kids and Counting" sent an email Wednesday that read: "Hello from the Duggar Family. We are so grateful for all of the prayers and emails of support for our family since Josie Brooklyn Duggar was born 12-10-09. Michelle is [recovering] from the emergency c-section and is doing [a lot] better. Josie is beautiful and in stable condition."

The news organization also reports that Michelle's sister Freda Ruark told them that the baby is able to take breast milk, which will help her immune system.

Freda said that Michelle will stay in the hospital "for awhile." Josie's 18 big brothers and sisters will be able to watch their new sister from home, however, via password-protected cameras installed in the bassinets of babies being cared for in the NICU.

Freda also reported that some of the Duggar children were on a mission to El Salvador when their new sister was born, which their family insisted they finish, but the family spoke on the phone every day.
