Jamie Foxx and "Lost" star Dominic Monaghan had a special surprise for hundreds of Los Angeles area high-school students on Tuesday.
Foxx and Monaghan were on hand at Walt Disney Concert Hall to participate in a special unveiling of more than $100,000 worth of new instruments for the students' school music programs from Fidelity FutureStage.
At the special event, Fidelity Investments and the Los Angeles Philharmonic launched the 2010 Fidelity FutreStage Music Program, part of a national initiative to support and strengthen public school arts programs and to provide student musicians chances to develop their talents.
The event brought together musicians of the L.A. Philharmonic, a 100-member performance ensemble from Renaissance Arts Academy, and special guests via simulcast including actress Joan Cusack in Chicago, Boston Pops conductor Keith Lockhart and Houston Symphony Principal Pops conductor Michael Krajewski.
