Both ladies looked stunning at the store's celebration, plus they were there for an especially good reason: the ribbon cutting was also a benefit for Life's WORC Family Center for Autism and the North Shore Animal League America, two non-profits on Long Island.

The mother-daughter duo stuck close together, posing together in front of a bright wall covered in pink, orange, and white roses. Sailor opted for an olive green slip dress, which she paired with a silver choker and black knee-high boots, while her mom literally shined in a metallic pleated dress, black blazer, and glittery gray pumps.

The pair were clearly excited to have a girls' night out, flashing mega-watt grins in a pic the 62-year-old model shared on Instagram after the event.

It couldn't have been tough to be in a good mood with these adorable puppies around, though!

Sailor, Christie's daughter with ex-husband Peter Cook, posted a shot as well, though hers was of the two being interviewed, and graciously thanked the evening's hosts. "Thank you for a great night @lordandtaylor supporting autism awareness and the @animalleague and the opening of Lord and Taylors new amazing store in Garden City! Thank you again for having us!" she wrote.

The next morning, the women were feeling more somber, with each sharing concerns about this week's presidential election results on their social media accounts.

Christie, a longtime animal activist, shared a Maya Angelou quote via Instagram...

...before requesting a call-to-action from President Barack Obama. "I'm calling on @POTUS to do everything in his power to safeguard our climate and communities before Donald Trump takes office," she tweeted.
