Bindi Irwin Celebrates 'Steve Irwin Day' With a Throwback Photo and Touching Post

Bindi Irwin is remembering her father.

The Dancing With the Stars champion shared a sweet message about her late dad, Steve Irwin, to Instagram on Monday, a day ahead of Steve Irwin Day on Nov. 15 -- which honors the Crocodile Hunter host and animal activist, who died in 2006.

"Celebrating Dad's life and legacy with Steve Irwin Day this November 15th @australiazoo ," the 18-year-old wildlife conservationist wrote. "Encouraging everyone to wear a touch of khaki on this amazing day to remember all that Dad did for our world, inspiring us all to love wildlife and wild places. Thank you."

This year marks the tenth anniversary of Steve's death, and despite losing her father, Bindi has made sure to always remind people of the kind of man he was.

"You'll be my hero for my entire existence," Bindi fondly captioned a throwback Instagram snap with Steve in September. "I love you more than words can describe."

And like Bindi, Steve's son Robert has also committed himself to carrying on his father's legacy.

"I'm keen to do everything he did," Robert, who was 2 years old when Steve died, told Austrailia's Today show this month. "He was the most incredible wildlife conservationist and every single day we strive to continue in his legacy."
