Rumer Willis
is headed to Empire.

The 28-year-old actress will have a recurring role on the musical drama, ET has confirmed, and it sounds like she'll be showing off her singing chops, too!

Willis has been tapped to play Tory Ash, a "brilliant but volatile singer/songwriter," according to a character description from Fox. The character will work closely with Jamal Lyon (Jussie Smollett) "as he creates his most important musical work yet."

It wouldn't be an Empire storyline without a little extra drama -- and it sounds like Willis is going to deliver!

"Her own attempt to make a crossover comeback and her unwillingness to shy away from controversy will have ripple effects throughout Empire," the description promises.

This won't be the first time Willis has shown off her musical talents. Earlier this year, while starring as Andy Sachs in the stage production of The Unauthorized Musical Parody of The Devil Wears Prada, Willis told ET that she enjoys pursuing projects that force her outside of her comfort zone.

“I think just being challenged every week to try something new and not to just challenge your body but challenge your mind, that's kind of why I like doing new things and even coming back and doing a show like this,” she explained. “I love being around people who are talented and it makes me want to step up my own game.”
