You can’t stop the beat! Hairspray Live! aired on NBC on Wednesday night to overwhelmingly positive reviews. Many stars – some with a musical background and some without – couldn’t stop raving over the show, which starred newcomer Maddie Bailio, Ariana Grande, Derek Hough, Martin Short, Kristin Chenoweth, Dove Cameron, Jennifer Hudson, and more.

Anna Kendrick, who’s had roles in the films Pitch Perfect, Into the Woods, and The Last 5 Years, live tweeted the whole event, gushing about the performances and cast.
Kate Hudson Snapchatted her mom, Goldie Hawn, dancing around the living room to the show, and Jennifer Lopez, who recently announced that she will be in the upcoming live NBC musical Bye Bye Birdie, tweeted her support of the star-studded cast.
Aaron Tveit, the Broadway alum who recently starred in Fox’s Grease Live! as Danny, also praised the performances.
