It's no secret that 2016 was, in many people's opinion, the absolute worst. However, there's one thing that brings the world together with pure and untarnished cuteness and that's babies.
So, as the year comes to an end, we're celebrating the newborn heroes (and adoring celebrity parents) who did their best to add a little happiness into the world with their innocent laughs and inability to keep their parents from dressing them up in silly costumes.
Here's a look at all the year's most heartwarming celebrity baby moments (in no particular order, because ranking babies on their cuteness would be kind of messed up).

1. Chrissy Teigen and John Legend's Little Powerhouse of Preciousness
Is there anything in the world more adorable than Baby Luna? The answer, obviously, is of course not. How would that even be possible? Literally everything that Luna Simone Stephens has done since she was born would be eligible for our "cutest baby moments of the year" list.
However, when it comes to the one shining moment that stood out for us, it would have to be the way she makes her famous father play her favorite Christmas tune on the piano over and over and over again.
2. La'Porsha Renae's Baby Girl Waves to America
While she might have come in second on American Idol's final season, La'Porsha certainly won the hearts of fans around the world with both her immense voice and incredibly adorable baby girl, Nayalee. The versatile vocalist brought her infant daughter on stage during the American Idol semi-finals and the adorable baby girl showed off her own star power with a super cute wave to America.
3. Coco Austin Dresses Up Chanel
When Coco and Ice T welcomed their baby girl in November 2015, the model took some heat for posting photos of Chanel dressed up in adorable outfits. Luckily, Coco didn't listen to the haters and continued to deliver some of the cutest costumed baby pics imaginable.

4. Boomer Phelps Watches His Dad Take Gold
Michael Phelps and wife Nicole Johnson welcomed their awesome baby boy Boomer in May 2016, just in time for the superstar swimmer and his family to head off to Rio for this summer’s Olympic Games, where Boomer was watching from the stands when his unparalleled papa took home his mind-blowing 23rd gold medal. The heartwarming father-son moment afterward was the perfect culmination of Phelps' Olympic career.
5. Jana Kramer's Little Girl Cheers Her On
Jana Kramer has had a difficult year following her separation from husband Mike Caussin in August. However, the singer signed on to perform on this season of Dancing With the Stars where she blew viewers away with her dynamic dances and ended up making it the finals.
All along the way, she got support from her adorable daughter, Jolie, whom she welcomed with Caussin in January, and who turned up to her rehearsals to give her mom the support she needed to carry on.
6. Eric Christian Olsen Cuddles Up With His Kids
The NCIS: LA star has always seemed to be a super sweet and attentive dad, posting tons of pics of his adorable son Wyatt to social media. And when Olsen and wife Sarah Wright Olsen welcomed their daughter, Esme Olivia, in August, the proud papa showed even more of his soft side.
Perhaps the best example of this is the 39-year-old star's "cuddle puddle" with his two kids as they watched the Pixar classic Ratatouille.
7. Saint West's Giggle Fit
Say what you will about the Kardashian family's overexposure this year, we can't get enough of Kimye's super-cute son, Saint. The adorable baby boy just turned 1 on Dec. 5, and there are innumerable moments of abject adorability to choose from, but we've gotta go with his epic giggle fit back in August.

8. Seth Meyers' Son Gets in the Turkey Day Spirit
The Late Night host and his wife, Alexi Ashe, welcomed their baby boy, Ashe Olson, on Easter Day, and Meyers recounted the tale of his wife's labor in one of the most hilarious talk show monologues in recent memory. But the holiday that really let their little boy shine was Thanksgiving, when Meyers dressed his cute kid up like a turkey, alongside their pet dog, who they dressed like a pilgrim.
"Looking forward to this coming up in therapy [in] 25 years," Meyers captioned the snapshot. "#ParentsToBlame."
9. Kelly Clarkson’s Beaming Baby
The "Piece by Piece" singer and her husband, Brandon Blackstock, welcomed their second child, a son named Remington "Remy" Alexander, in April, and he's just as photogenic as their super-cute 2-year-old daughter, River Rose. However, Remy's best moment this year might have been his big, amiable smile right after getting his shots. We've never seen a baby this happy after a doctor's visit.

10. Dream Kardashian Gets Cozy for Christmas
Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna might have only welcomed their baby girl, Dream, a month ago, but she's already stealing our hearts with Christmas-tastic snapshots like these.
11. Louis Tomlinson and Briana Jungwirth’s Perfect Pumpkin
Louis Tomlinson and his ex, hairstylist Briana Jungwirth, welcomed their son Freddie Reign in January and the super-cute kid has been nothing less than effortlessly adorable ever since. Especially around Halloween, when Jungwirth shared this amazing pic of her little boy dressed like a pumpkin, the perfect baby costume.
12. Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis' Baby is Already a Boss
The happy parents celebrated the birth of their second child, daughter Daisy Josephine, with this snapshot of her laying on her giant sheep pillow. "There goes the neighborhood," Wilde wrote in the caption. "Born, like a boss, on #internationaldayofthegirl." First pic out of the gate and she's already awesome.
