While the world continues to mourn the sudden death of Alan Thicke, ET is looking back at one of the brightest spots in his life -- his marriage to Tanya Callau.

After marrying once in 1970 to Days of Our Lives actress Gloria Loring and again in 1994 to model Gina Tolleson, Thicke found love for the third time when he met Callau, who would be his wife until his death.

What follows is a timeline featuring some of Alan and Tanya's most special moments.

1999: The Beginning

The same year that Thicke's divorce from his second wife, Tolleson, was finalized, the Growing Pains star, then 52, found himself working a celebrity presenter job in Miami. Callau, then 24, was also in town, as the Bolivian-born model was working a gig at the same time. After meeting, the two immediately hit it off and began their courtship.

April 2005: Engagement

After about six years of dating, Thicke decided to put a ring on it. At the time, the actor joked with People about his marital history, saying, "I'll be on my third honeymoon, so I'm more of an authority than I care to be."

The couple would walk down the aisle just weeks after going public with their engagement news.

May 2005: The Wedding

At 58, Thicke made his longtime girlfriend, then 30, his wife, during a ceremony in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

Thicke's son from his second marriage, Carter, was just 7 at the time and performed the duty of ring bearer. Alan actually used a prop ring for the nuptials because the real one was being engraved.

"This ring I think cost around $8," Thicke said. "It is the ring I wore on Growing Pains for many years."

But Thicke didn't take any shortcuts when it came to his romantic vows.

"If the last breath I take could be to say how much I loved you, then I know my time on earth will be complete," he told his bride.

And to top it all off, son Robin serenaded the newlyweds at the reception with "Let's Stay Together."

"Alan made all my dreams come true," Callau said at the time. "I'm a very happy bride."

May 2008: First Grandchild

On May 15, 2008, Alan became a grandfather when his oldest son, Brennan, from his first marriage to Loring, welcomed a son, Tyler, with wife Kathleen.

April 2010: Grandchild No. 2

Nearly two full years after the birth of their first grandchild, Alan and Tanya were blessed again when Alan's middle son, Robin, became a father. The singer and then-wife Paula Patton welcomed son Julian on April 6, 2010.

At the time, Alan told ET Canada he was "thrilled to welcome my second fabulous grandson, Julian! He already has Robin's voice, Paula's sense of drama -- he arrived a little early -- and my hair."

April 2014: Unusually Thicke

Alan and Tanya's blended reality-sitcom show followed the couple and Alan's teenage son, Carter, as they navigated through comical everyday obstacles like what to do with all the free swag in their house.

December 2016: Alan's Death

On Dec. 13, 2016, Alan suffered a heart attack while playing hockey with 19-year-old son Carter. He was pronounced dead later the same day at Providence St. Joseph's Medical Center in Burbank, California. He was 69.

Just two days before Alan's death, Tanya shared a candid moment with her husband on Instagram.

"I've got the cutest designated driver EVER!!!" she captioned a photo of herself and Alan on Dec. 11, 2016. "JP & @eloisedejoria sure know how to throw a party! Thx you for having us. #friendsforever #patron #family."
