Biggest Trendsetter: Kylie Jenner

Lip kit maven. Music video muse. Calendar cover girl. Model. Is there anything the 19-year-old reality star can't do?

Following the massive success of her lip kits, Jenner basically created her own empire this year, expanding the line with the launch of Kylie Cosmetics. Just this month, she also opened a store, The Kylie Shop, complete with all the Kylie-inspired merchandise you could possibly want. Oh, and did we mention she also launched a pop up shop at the Westfield Mall in Topanga, California?

In addition to being her own boss, we also got to see the youngest member of the Kardashian-Jenner clan model this year, in a campaign for PUMA and on the cover of Complex and PAPER magazines. She was one of the first to model a pair of jeans from sister Khloe Kardashian's Good American denim line, and was featured in rapper PartyNextDoor's "Come and See Me" music video.

Jenner kept us entertained all year long by constantly surprising us with new hair colors, which inspired her millions of fans to do the same. Black, platinum blonde, peach, rainbow, rose gold -- she proved she really can pull off anything.

Get it, girl!

Social Media Queen: Selena Gomez

The "Hands to Myself" singer is currently the most followed celebrity on Instagram with 104 million fans, surpassing BFF Taylor Swift and ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber (who deleted his account this year following backlash).

In 2016, Gomez also had eight of the 10 most-liked pictures on the social media platform. The top photo, one of her sipping Coca-Cola from a striped straw, currently boasts six million likes.

"I'm not sure there's a method to my madness," Gomez, who frequently posts pics with fans, told The Hollywood Reporter in July. "I try to find a good balance of just being 100 percent myself and knowing when to post a really good selfie with good lighting."

Even after taking some time off from the spotlight this year to deal with health issues stemming from her battle with lupus , the pop star has reigned social media queen.

"I think it's safe to say most of you know my life whether I liked it or not," she explained to the crowd while accepting the award for Favorite Female Artist - Pop/Rock at the American Music Awards in November. "And I had to stop, because I had everything and I was absolutely broken inside, and I kept it all together enough to where I would never let you down, but I kept it too much together to where I let myself down."

"I don't want to see your bodies on Instagram," she continued. "I want to see what's in [your heart]. I'm not trying to get validation, nor do I need it anymore. All I can say from the bottom of my heart is, I'm so grateful that I have the opportunity to be able to share what I love every single day with people that I love, and I have to say thank you so much to my fans, because you guys are so damn loyal, and I don't know what I did to deserve you. But if you are broken, you do not have to stay broken."

Hottest 'It' Couple: Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth

Reunited, and happier than ever!

The adorable duo, who met on the set of The Last Song in 2010, called off their engagement in September 2013. But in January, the two got back together, causing quite a stir amongst fans, who couldn't believe The Dressmaker actor and "Wrecking Ball" singer rang in the New Year together after so much time apart.

In a year of so many devastating splits (looking at you, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie!), it was refreshing to see the two re-connect and find love again.

Funniest Twitter Account: Chrissy Teigen

The 31-year-old model has no shame calling out her haters! In 2016 alone, we've seen the mother of one clap back at those yelling at her for holding her now eight-month-old daughter, Luna, "incorrectly," eating junk food and choosing the gender of her "darn science baby" after undergoing in vitro fertilization.

Luckily, her husband, John Legend, always has her back. #RelationshipGoals!

But aside from defending herself from Twitter trolls, her daily tweets are pure gold. A few of our faves from the year:

Best Shoes: Rihanna

From the quirky Converse-inspired heels she wore to the MusiCares Person of the Year event in February to her full collection of fierce kicks from her new Fenty X Puma line, the "Work" singer seriously stepped up the shoe game in 2016.

Most Inspiring Celeb 'Do-Gooder': Taylor Swift

This year wasn't necessarily Swift's best one yet -- she dealt with two breakups (one with Calvin Harris and then again with Tom Hiddleston) and was famously called out by Kanye West and Kim Kardashian in a song and on Snapchat -- but that didn't stop the 27-year-old pop star from giving back.

Some of Swift's most notable contributions this year included donating $5,000 to a fan's funeral costs, sending $250,000 to Kesha amid her legal battle with former producer Dr. Luke and giving $1 million to Louisiana to help those affected by the flood in Baton Rouge. On top of all of that, she also donated money to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles after the hospital saved her godson's life.

Hottest Newcomer: Chrissy Metz

The brunette beauty is 36-years-old and proving dreams can come true at any age! Metz landed a role on one of the most popular shows of 2016, This Is Us. Now, she's making a name for herself for breaking barriers in Hollywood and inspiring others to follow in her footsteps.

And it looks like Metz even found love this year! ET caught up with the Florida native backstage at 102.7 KIIS-FM's Jingle Ball 2016 at Staples Center in Los Angeles earlier this month, where she couldn't stop gushing over the "special gentlemen" in her life.

"You don't know him, you don't know him. He's not an actor," she teased, telling ET they've been dating for about four months now. "He's not an actor, but he is a sweet treat and he's wonderful. It's new, but I will be kissing him under the mistletoe!"

Best TV Show of the Year: This Is Us and Stranger Things

It was impossible to choose between these two series, both of which wowed viewers for their epic storylines and incredible casts.

When the 2017 Golden Globes nominations were released earlier this month, it was no surprise that both shows made the list, competing against each other in the Best TV Series, Drama category.

Additionally, This Is Us' Chrissy Metz and Mandy Moore were both nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Series, Limited Series or Motion Picture made for Television- Drama, while Winona Ryder is nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series, Drama for her role in Stranger Things.

Hottest Song of the Year: "Closer" - The Chainsmokers (feat. Halsey)

? "So baby, pull me closer, in the backseat of your Rover…" ?

Unless you've been living under a rock for the past 365 days or so, we think it's safe to say you’d be lying if you didn't jam out to this catchy tune at least once. Whether you're driving in your car, pregaming with friends, or busting out your best dance move in the club, it's the perfect track to lift up anyone's spirits, and its numbers prove that.

In four short months, the lyric video acquired over 864,000,000 views on YouTube, with the official music video receiving 91,000,000 views in just two months. And let's not forget that in the U.S., the song became both The Chainsmokers and Halsey's first No. 1 single on the Billboard Hot 100, slaying the top spot for 12 consecutive weeks.

The Chainsmokers (also well known for their hits "#Selfie," 'Kanye," and "Don't Let Me Down") have yet to release a full-length LP, but after hearing this banger, we can only hope 2017 brings more from the electronic-dance music duo.

Hot Topic Celeb: Kim Kardashian West

Last on our list is the celebrity who racked up the biggest headlines this year, none other than reality star queen, Kim Kardashian West.

From being named the highest paid-reality star by Forbes, to posting a completely nude selfie on Instagram in March and eventually going silent on social media following a frightening robbery in Paris, France, in October, it really has been hard trying to keep up with this Kardashian.

After giving birth to her second child, son Saint West, with husband Kanye West last December, the Selfish author also made headlines for her drastic 60-pound weight loss. And most recently, Ms. West has been the center of attention following Kanye's recent hospitalization, after he abruptly canceled the remaining dates of his Saint Pablo tour.

And how about that time she went completely savage, sharing bombshell footage of her husband allegedly getting Taylor Swift's blessing on the infamous "Famous" lyrics she slammed him for in February? SLAY!
