Fans of the hit Starz series Outlander were disappointed on Wednesday night when the cast of the time-traveling drama didn’t attend the People’s Choice Awards, despite picking up several trophies. To explain their absence (and poke some fun at their competitors), stars Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan taped a sweet video, which was posted to the official Outlander account.

“We heard we might have won something, which is amazing,” Balfe, clad in a thick winter coat, said while grinning.

“So sorry to Westworld and Stranger Things, not to rub it in at all,” Heughan quipped, as Balfe scolded him for bragging. “We have some great fans.”

Balfe went on to explain their absence, noting, “We wish we were there. We’re here busy filming that’s why we couldn’t make it. But we definitely have the best fans.”

The series, which is based off the bestselling novels by the same name, films in Edinburgh, Scotland.

The actors also revealed that they would be doing a live Facebook Q&A to thank their fans for their support on Thursday.

“And if Millie Bobby Brown wants to ask us any questions,” Heughan teased, referencing the Stranger Things breakout actress, “that’s absolutely fine, but she has to use those lights.”
