EXCLUSIVE: Sarah Jessica Parker Is Overwhelmed With Gratitude Over First Post-'Sex and the City' Award

The TV star won for Favorite Premium Series Actress for her role on 'Divorce.'

Sarah Jessica Parker had nothing but love for her loyal fans when she accepted the award for Favorite Premium Series Actress at the 2017 People's Choice Awards on Wednesday night.

The 51-year-old actress -- who wore a stunning gold J. Mendel dress to the event -- won for her role in Divorce, making this her first People's Choice accolade and the first award she's earned since her time playing Carrie Bradshaw in the Sex and the City TV series and film franchise.

"I felt like this invitation was about the chance to say thank you to people who have for many years -- and it's unbeknownst to me why -- but they really have been like my traveling companion," Parker told ET's Carly Steel of her win. "I felt that this was this opportunity, more than anything, just about trying to express my gratitude."

"I can't believe you don't have 10 [People's Choice Awards]," Steel exclaimed. "No, this one means more than 10," Parker gushed. "It's lovely."

The beloved star reiterated these sentiments in her heartfelt acceptance speech. "I feel like there are many who are not just an audience but have been sort of a companion to me over the course of a lot of, a lot of years," Parker said upon accepting her award. "I feel indebted to them for their commitment and their devotion and their time and their interest. I thank them for sharing that and showing that."

"As ridiculous as it sounds, I sort of dreamed that I could thank each and every one of them, or at least to attempt to convey a deep appreciation," she continued. "I will just simply say thank you to the people, to those people, for their friendship and for their support and for the roles they've played in the roles that I've played."
