"Still #cancer#free!!!!" he captioned a screenshot of a text exchange between him and his doctor. "Having cancer is a very scary thing… I always get nervous going into each checkup, and today I got GREAT news!! Having no thyroid and balancing medications is tough! I'm finally at UCLA and I'm on the right doses of medication."

"People don't know but I was very over medicated with rapid heart rate and palpitations to the point where I wore a heart rate monitor," he continued. "It really messed me up but today everything is dialed and I finally feel great after 3 years!!"

The news comes just a few weeks after El Moussa filed for divorce from his wife of nearly seven years. The former couple, who will continue to co-hostFlip or Flop together, announced they had separated in December following a heated fight that led to the police getting called out to their Orange County, California, home back in May.

As ET previously reported, El Moussa revealed he "probably would've never known" that he had cancer if it weren't for a fan, nurse Ryan Read, who spotted a lump on his neck while watching the popular HGTV show.

"It was just such an amazing experience to meet this person, because she stepped up and did what others probably wouldn't have done," he told The Insider in November 2015. "By the time that I would've found out [about the cancer], it probably would've been in a much further stage."
