Happy Birthday, Lauren Bushnell!
The former Bachelor
star turned 27 on Thursday, and in honor of her special day, fiancé Ben Higgins
took to Instagram to gush over his blonde beauty.
Rumors have been swirling that the two recently called it quits, but Higgins set the record straight that they're very
much still together
in his sweet post.
"No need to respond often to rumors or 'fake news' but the feeling I have in this picture is the same feeling I have for this girl today," he wrote on Wednesday, accompanied with a photo of him kissing Bushnell on the cheek. "We have entered into a world where rumors will exist we know that, but just know as @laurenbushnell celebrates her birthday tomorrow I am still extremely lucky to be able to share life with her and be by her side."
And while Higgins isn't physically by her side right now, Bushnell seems to be having a blast on her girls' only getaway! The Portland, Oregon, native took to her own Instagram page to share some snaps from her trip to Punta Mita, Mexico.
"Holaaaaa! You can find me here the rest of the week... maybe longer," she joked. "At this point I'm worried I might never leave!"
Another pic showed her "frolicking on the beach" while humming "an Ed Sheeran song."
"Another year older and feeling so incredibly grateful for this life," she captioned a pic of her coconut drink, placed next to her freshly manicured feet. "And nothing makes me feel more alive than my toes in the sand."
She also thanked her family, friends and fans for all the birthday love, writing, "Humbled and blessed to have such amazing people in my life. Came down to one of my favorite places on the [earth], family by my side."
"Only thing missing is @higgins.ben," she continued. "Thank you @fspuntamita for making this a birthday to remember. And thank you to the coconut man for delicious drinks!"
ET recently caught up with the lovebirds
at the charity premiere party for Nick Viall's Bachelor
season in Los Angeles, where Higgins explained the real reason why he's so grateful for the reality show.
"I don't get very emotional about the Bachelor experience because it was very good to me, and I walked away really happy, but I was thinking like, this night, a year ago was such a cool night for me," he dished. "It really did change the trajectory of [my] life."
"I think Lauren is definitely the biggest reason it changed everything," he added. "You come out of this engaged and we're now over a year engaged and we're making life together. People got to see us fall in love."
