Val Chmerkovskiy is very sad that he and Laurie Hernandez are going their separate ways.

The 30-year-old dancer, who led the Olympic gymnast to victory during season 23 of Dancing With the Stars, took to Instagram on Thursday to share a selfie of the two, accompanied by a sweet message about their journey as dance partners.

As many fans of the popular dance competition may recall, Hernandez joined Chmerkovskiy on the Dancing With the Stars: Live! tour after winning the mirror ball trophy last November. But "#TeamValaur" is about to end, as the tour wraps Feb. 14 in Costa Mesa, California.

"Breakfast with this incredible young lady," Chmerkovskiy captioned the snap. "Talking life, family, and what's really important to hold dear."

"As this tour is coming to an end, times spent with my lil nugget will be by far the times I'll miss the most," he continued. "What an awesome ride this has been, playing older brother, mentoring this wonderful talent and spirit. Excited to see how high she will continue to soar, how bright her star will continue to shine. Very proud of the young leader she has become. #teamvalaur #tour."
