"Alright #AtlantaFalcons let’s do this! Super Bowl Sunday!" Spencer tweeted, prompting Evans to respond, "How dare you :)."

And of course, the rivalry had to continue during the game!

"You better be careful. We make half time adjustments better than anyone in the league!!" Evans replied.

"Um I was just checking the score," Spencer slyly responded.

Of course, after the Patriots comeback led to the first overtime win in Super Bowl history, 34-28, Evans -- as he did with Chris Pratt two years before -- had the last laugh.

"I don't want hear from u @ChrisEvans until the last snap," Spencer tweeted late in the game.

But after that last snap happened, Evans got to celebrate his team's astonishing victory.

"OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!! GREATEST SPORTING EVENT OF MY ENTIRE LIFE!!!! CONGRATULATIONS NEW ENGLAD PATRIOTS!!!!," the actor tweeted.

He also replied to Spencer, who kept things cordial with her defeated “blah blah blah. Love u still lol.”
