'It's cheesy and I like it,' the GRAMMY nominee tells ET with a laugh.

Kelsea Ballerini
and Morgan Evans are taking their relationship to the next level.

No, not with a wedding (yet), but with a song together!

Kelsea stopped by ET on Thursday to dish about her new engagement, her Best New Artist GRAMMY nomination, and her upcoming sophomore album. Asked whether she had written any songs about her groom-to-be, the "Dibs" singer said "Yes!"

"And he just sang on it," she added with a smile. "It's gonna be on the record, and it's cheesy and I like it."

Kelsea stopped short of revealing the song's title because, she said, "I think it's gonna end up being the album title, so I'm holding all that. But, yeah, it'll be there."

The 23-year-old country darling got engaged to her Australian singer-songwriter beau on Christmas morning after a whirlwind courtship. The pair met for the first time, officially, while hosting the CMC Awards in Brisbane, Australia, last March.

"I was anti-love, [anti-]dudes, [anti-]thinking about futures before him," she admitted. "I always remember people telling me, 'When you know, you know.' And I was like, 'What do you mean? That makes no sense to me.' And then, for real, within weeks, I was like, 'Whenever. Yeah, I'm in.'"

The duo has yet to begin planning their nuptials ("I'm getting through the GRAMMYs first"), but Kelsea is hard at work on her next album.

"I feel like it'll be different but not in a drastic way where anybody feels like I'm trying to change my identity. It's not like that," she explained. "My first record, I really wanted it to capture 12-21, so it's younger and youthful and it's flirty. This one's definitely more mature because I'm writing it from 21-23 and my life's changed a lot. I went through a gross breakup and then I had some growing up discovery years, and then I met Morgan. So I think it captures all of that."

But first, she'll vie for Best New Artist against fellow country newcomer Maren Morris, as well as The Chainsmokers, Chance the Rapper and Anderson .Paak.

It's a stark difference from her GRAMMY experience last year, watching pal Taylor Swift accept the Album of the Year trophy from a seedy hotel room in Nevada, where she was slated to begin production on her music video for "Peter Pan."

The next morning, only ET was with (a then-single) Kelsea as she shot the project and dished on what she was looking for in love.

"I need someone that makes me laugh because I feel like I'm always going and it's so nice to be able to stop and laugh sometimes," she said exactly one year ago. "I think that's a really nice quality. And someone that is down to, like, chill all the time. I don't like going out that much. I'm a homebody."

Watching the footage back today, Kelsea can't help but laugh and "aww."

"Oh my gosh, yeah, he is like my dream guy," she gushed of Morgan. "He chills and he makes me laugh!"
