But the focus wasn’t on fashion as the Duchess of Cambridge met with children, families, and those involved in foster care to learn more about the organization.

“The Duchess firmly believes that every child who needs it should be given the best support at the earliest opportunity,” Kensington Palace said of the visit in a statement.

Middleton was met with cheering crowds of children. One excited on-looker even gave her a bouquet of yellow roses.

Action for Children provides 600 services to help improve the lives of 390,000 children and families each year. Once inside, Middleton met with birth families, foster carers, and therapeutic foster carers to talk about the importance of the project.

She also played a cute game of pool with some of the children involved in the program.

Prince William’s wife took over the patronage duties from Queen Elizabeth herself. The work of Action for Children fits in well with the Royals push for mental health awareness.
