We all knew it was coming! The response to the Best Picture snafu at the end of this year’s Oscars has been overwhelming, so naturally, James Corden had to spoof the situation on Monday’s Late Late Show.

Reenacting a scene from the hit musical La La Land, Corden dressed as Emma Stone’s character, going in for her big audition from the film. When the casting directors ask Corden to tell them a story, he begins the dramatic tale.

“Our film used to be Best Picture. I remember it was Oscar night. Faye Dunaway said La La Land won. I remember our whole team jumped on the stage, leapt without looking, gave speeches, until the PricewaterhouseCoopers guys came up. They said, ‘Moonlight’s the winner, and we all lost our damn minds,’” he recalled, before transitioning into singing.

“Was this a mixup? A conspiracy? A fixup? Or was Warren Beatty just blind?” Corden sang of the Oscars presenter. “Here’s to the ones who lose. God, I need so much booze.”

Continuing to sing to the tune of the song from the film, he quipped, “This result doesn’t seem right. Oscars used to be so white!”
