He also opened up about his battle with thyroid and testicular cancer.
Tarek El Moussa isn’t afraid to get candid about his divorce from his wife, Christina El Moussa. The Flip or Flop star appears on Monday's episode of The Doctors, opening up about the split and his cancer battle.
“I feel like if we had better communication, we would have had a better relationship,” he says of his seven-year marriage. “I think as time went on, as you get busier and busier. It was like overnight, businesses, TV, all these things happened overnight, then the cancer, then the cancer, and the back surgery. It just kind of started pushing us apart from each other.”

Tarek admits that the decision to end things wasn’t an easy one for the spouses and HGTV stars.
“I would be lying if I said it was easy,” he continues. “But like anything, there’s ups and downs and you have challenges, but at the end of the day, we’re just normal people. What’s most important is the family and the kids. It’s really important that we stay positive.”
While struggling in his personal life, Tarek was also battling both thyroid and testicular cancer.
“It was an emotional rollercoaster, physical rollercoaster, I had 60-pound weight swings,” he says of the struggle. “For the first time in a long, long time I feel really good. It was a miserable three years.”
And when asked if he regrets putting his family and life on reality TV, Tarek had a very interesting take.
“Yes, I regret it, and no, I don’t regret it,” he explains. “The reason I don’t regret it is because a nurse out of Texas was watching our show, she emailed me, said, ‘Go get your thyroid checked, you might have thyroid cancer.’ So if it wasn’t for the TV and that nurse, I never would have found out.”
Tarek recently opened up to ET about the possibility of a reconciliation with his ex, saying, "Honestly, it took a lot of work to get to a good place for both of us, that I think we are at the point where we aren't looking back, we are looking towards our future."
