Nick Cannon is "crazy" and proud of it.

In his video blog debut on Monday, the 36-year-old comedian got candid about rumors surrounding his mental state, after he abruptly decided to quit his America's Got Talent hosting gig last month.

"Let's talk about the mother f**king elephant in the room -- people think I'm crazy," Cannon says, talking directly to the camera while wearing a gold turban. "There have been reports that I have mental issues... tell us some s**t we don't know! I was dressing in drag at 17. I been crazy."

"They call me crazy because I turned down millions and millions ... of dollars," he continues. "I am moving on to bigger and better things, like my mixtape."

After poking fun of himself for appearing to go backwards in terms of his career, he later defended his unconventional ways.

"You know what, to be brilliant, to be a genius, to change the world, you have to be crazy," he says. "You know who else is crazy? Albert Einstein, Buddha, Gandhi, Martin Luther King Jr."
