Things are just starting to heat up for Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez.
A source close to Rodriguez tells ET that the cute new couple haven't known each other for very long, and were introduced by "mutual friends who put this idea together."

"Alex and Jennifer ran into each other about a month or so ago in L.A.," the source shared. "They're both single, have these huge careers and their families are their No. 1 priorities. They have a lot in common and friends thought they could be really good together."
The source also revealed that their relationship, while "very new," really kicked off when A-Rod went to go check out J.Lo's Las Vegas show, All I Have, at The AXIS at Planet Hollywood.

The couple spent the weekend together in the Bahamas, where they were spotted at the Bakers Bay Golf & Ocean Club, getting cozy on a powerboat at the Harbor View Marina.
"Jen flew to Miami with her kids. She dropped them off there and she and Alex then took their first trip together to the Bahamas to get away," the source said, explaining that Lopez's 9-year-old twins, Emme and Maximilian, are staying with their father, Marc Anthony, at his house in Florida.

While the two seem to be connecting, it doesn't sound like the celebs will be letting their burgeoning relationship get in the way of their careers or commitments.
"Their schedules are so crazy and that isn't going to slow down anytime soon," the source explained. "They will both continue to carry out their work obligations and will meet up when time allows."
