“We are sad to share that after almost a year of marriage we have decided to separate and file for a divorce,” the social worker wrote. “Thank you in advance for your love and support through this difficult time!”

“We look forward to growing and continuing to learn about ourselves from what we still consider to be a meaningful experience with MAFS,” Granados continued.

Pendergrast also shared the statement on Twitter.

The couple met on season four of the A&E reality series, which follows couples as they meet for the first time at the altar on their wedding day. They embarked on an at-times tumultuous relationship, with Granados moving out following an explosive fight at one point.

Granados opened up about the struggles of their marriage in an interview with The Knot last year.

“I’m [still] struggling with the fact that Nick isn’t affectionate, because my mother wasn’t affectionate either,” she admitted. “I think that’s the reason I can understand him a little better, but I still need physical affection to feed my soul.”
