The 31-year-old reality star appeared on 'Good Morning America' on Wednesday.
Bachelorette star Kaitlyn Bristowe refuses to be pressured into motherhood.
After recently announcing a plan to freeze her eggs, the 31-year-old reality star is explaining the motivation behind her decision.
"I think a lot of women feel pressure to have kids, especially when you get engaged --'When's the wedding?' and 'When are you gonna have babies?'" Bristowe told Good Morning America Wednesday. "And for me, I'm like, I don't want that pressure on myself."
Bristowe appeared on the morning show alongside her fiance, Shawn Booth, who won her heart during season 11 of The Bachelorette. "This is kind of a backup plan for us, and for us to feel comfortable," continued Bristowe. "It's kind of like insurance."
"I think Shawn's role in this was crucial for me," she added while gazing at Booth. "I don't know what I would have done without you."
Booth noted that they do hope to have a big family one day. "We always say we want to have probably five, but we'll talk about that when we have one."
Last week, Bristowe revealed on Twitter that freezing her eggs was a way of "taking control" of her future. And Booth, 29, has been right there supporting his fiancee.
The couple of two years, are moving at their own pace when it comes to babies and tying the knot. In February, Bristowe dished to ET about how she and Booth have beaten the Bachelor curse.
"I think [Shawn and I are still together] because we didn't jump into another show, we just went back to somewhat of a normal life," explained the Canada native.
"We spend every second of every day together," she gushed. "I'm like, 'How?' We must really love each other, because I wouldn't be able to fake that… He is my best friend and he just happens to be extremely attractive, so it all just worked out."
