Chrissy Metz is on 'People' magazine's 'World's Most Beautiful' list this year!
Chrissy Metz has come a long way when it comes to her self-esteem!
The 36-year-old This Is Us star wrote a letter to her teenage self for People's "World's Most Beautiful" issue, and got emotional in a video while reading it out loud.
"You are just as important and beautiful as Amy, the most gorgeous cheerleader in your entire school, even if your hair isn’t the perfect natural shade of honey blonde or because your clothes aren't from Guess or that your curves look very different from hers," Metz says, fighting back tears. "Contrary to the bill of goods you’ve been sold, life is not a competition. Stop comparing yourself to anyone or anything."

"We are all on our own journey and you are the driver," she adds. "There will be bumps in the road, detours to be taken and pit stops will have to be made, but you've got to fill 'er up and keep going. You will lose your map, but never your intuition."
She also urges herself to "never close your heart."
"Allow every smile, frown and town you drive through to open your mind, but never close your heart," she stresses. "One day you will appreciate the upgrade of that cruise control but never take your eye off that winding road you have paved by being courageously you!"
In February, Metz candidly talked about body shaming with Sirius XM's Jenny Hutt, specifically, the perception of plus-size people.
"Right now, I think it's so important that we're having those conversations, because when you're knowledgeable about something, the fear goes away and so many people are afraid of fat people," Metz said. "It's crazy, and I hate to say that, but until we educate people and figure out what the real issue is, people are going to be afraid of it."
