Lucy Hale Explains Decision to Quit Drinking, Says She Has 'No Interest' in Partying Anymore

At 27, Lucy Hale is gaining some clarity into what she wants out of life.

In a new sit-down with online style publication Byrdie, the Pretty Little Liars star discusses her plans as the hit Freeform show rapidly approaches its series finale, as well as her decision to trade alcohol and partying for SoulCycle and a healthier lifestyle.

"PLL was a great chapter of my life, but it’s very exciting to start over," Hale admits. "Becoming a part of this popular show … everyone just says yes to you, so you get away with a lot, and then you make mistakes."

Finding her own identity amid all the pressures of being on the show is what ultimately led Hale to leaving the booze behind.

"I’m just always trying to surround myself with better people and be the best version of myself possible," she explains, adding that she has "no interest" in partying any longer.

Hale then jokes that SoulCycle has become her version of church, noting, "I go home, and my dad’s like, 'You L.A. hippie with your crystals and your SoulCycle!' I always used to make fun of those people, but now I think it’s just magic."
