Prince Philip Steps Out With Queen Elizabeth After Announcing His Retirement: Pics!

He attended the Order of Merit Service with Queen Elizabeth on Thursday.

Not retired yet! Prince Philip stepped out on Thursday after the announcement that he will be retiring in the fall from his public appearances.

The 95-year-old royal accompanied his wife, Queen Elizabeth, to the Order of Merit Service at St. James’s Palace in London, England.

The Duke of Edinburgh appeared to be in good spirits as he greeted guests at the event.


Rumors about the status of Prince Philip’s health
started swirling early Thursday morning after several British outlets reported that Queen Elizabeth called an emergency meeting at Buckingham Palace at 3 a.m.

But the Palace quickly clarified that announcement was not health-related and that Queen Elizabeth fully supported her husband’s decision.

Prince Philip will turn 96 in June, and Queen Elizabeth recently celebrated her 91st birthday. He will continue to attend royal events through August, and even after his retirement may make the occasional appearance.
