Anna Wintour Becomes a Dame, Wears Chanel and Sunglasses While Meeting Queen Elizabeth II

Say hello to Dame Anna Wintour!

Fresh off her co-chair duties at the Met Gala in New York City, the Editor-in-Chief of American Vogue received the highly prestigious title for her services and influence to fashion and journalism from Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace in London, England, on Friday.

The 67-year-old fashionista looked every bit the part for the royal meeting, donning her trademark bob, a pale pink Chanel Haute Couture double-breasted coat with a white belt, nude Manolo Blahnik pumps and sunglasses.

The queen looked equally fab, chic in a long-sleeved, turquoise dress and black pumps. Wintour respectfully removed her sunglasses shortly before entering the palace to speak with the 91-year-old royal.

Moments after receiving the honor, Wintour posed for a pic with her medal outside of the palace with her 29-year-old daughter, Bee Shaffer.

Shaffer later praised her mom over Instagram, sharing a pic of her wearing the medal and captioning it, "Dame AW."

In more exciting news, Wintour recently became a grandma! Her son, Charles Shaffer, welcomed a baby girl, Caroline, with wife Lizzy Shaffer last month.
