The Canadian crooner obviously has a ways to go before he reaches retirement age, and he's vowing to "work everyday" at becoming a better person.

"I look back at a lot of things in my life, mistakes, insecurities, and although I have felt I've wasted a lot of time it also makes me want to be better faster and longer! For me personally I want to work everyday to be BETTER AT 70," he captioned the snap of a tattoo.

Although Bieber didn't confirm whether he's actually rocking new ink, the "Better at 70" concept is something that he picked up from his pastor, Judah Smith.

The purpose of the mantra is to "keep the end in mind," as Smith explained in a 2015 interview.

As for the timing of Bieber's reflective post, it may have been motivated by a water bottle incident last weekend.

Bieber refused to sing his verse on the popular remix of Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee's hit single, "Despacito," during a performance at Summerburst Festival in Stockholm, Sweden.

"I can't do 'Despacito,' Bieber can be heard saying onstage after a fan yelled for him to perform the track. "I don't even know it. I can't do the song."
