'Teen Mom' Star Jenelle Evans Says She Almost Overdosed on Heroin, Reveals What Led to Her Getting Sober
Jenelle Evans is getting candid about her stuggle with addiction.
In a new interview to promote her upcoming book, Read Between the Lines: From the Diary of a Teenage Mom, the 25-year-old Teen Mom 2 star opens up about her well-documented issues with drugs, and says that during one particularly scary incident, she almost overdosed on heroin.
"I think my low point was my drug issue and the whole heroin thing," she tells E! News. "I almost overdosed and died. I was trying to run away from my problems. ... God knows what might have happened. I might have been dead."

Evans, who's now sober, decided to seek help when she started to experience withdrawals.
"When I started withdrawing for the first time in my life, I was like, 'This is not the way I want to live. This is scaring the s**t out of me, and I need to get help right now,'" she shares.
The mother of three also talks about her complicated relationship with her mom, Barbara Evans. MTV viewers often saw their intense arguments, and Evans says the two are still estranged to this day. Evans notes that her anger issues stem from her parents' divorce at a young age.
"She was very hostile and yelling and screaming all the time," Evans claims about Barbara.
"We still butt heads," she continues, referring to their current relationship. "I think our relationship is lost, like, I don't ever think there's coming back at any point or time."
Evans lost custody of her eldest son, 7-year-old Jace, to her mom at one point, though the two have now reached a court-ordered visitation agreement. Evans says the two are still not on the same page when it comes to Jace -- the reality star wants custody of Jace, though Barbara currently maintains primary custody.
"She feels entitled, like, 'I raised this child, so he's mine,'" Evans says. "She knows if she gives him to me that I will cut her off. That will be it. She's scared."

Evans welcomed her third child, daughter Ensley, with fiance David Eason in January. Ensley joins her two other kids from two previous relationships -- Jace and three-year-old Kaiser.
