Kate Beckinsale Jokes About Her 'Human Centipede' Family Connection With Jimmy Kimmel
Kate Beckinsale knows her way around a metaphor.
The actress sat down with Jimmy Kimmel on Wednesday to promote her upcoming film, The Only Living Boy in New York, and she revealed that her 18-year-old daughter, Lily Sheen, has a crush on the talk show host.
"You know how they have crushes on Justin Bieber and things like that? She's got one on you," Beckinsale admitted.

As the audience wooed, the actress turned explained, "[But] it's a little bit of a tricky situation, because my daughter's dad is dating Jimmy's ex-girlfriend. It's very twisted."
Beckinsale is of course referring to her ex-husband, Michael Sheen, who is currently in a long-term relationship with Sarah Silverman, who dated Kimmel for seven years until their split in 2009. Kimmel later went on to marry comedian Molly McNearney, while Beckinsale has recently been romantically linked with 21-year-old actor Matt Rife.
"It's a sort of horrible, Human Centipede-y vibe," Beckinsale joked, sending Kimmel into a fit of laughter.
"Anyway, I think you should be pleased. She's very attractive," Beckinsale said, before adding, "She's out of your league, though. I just want you to know that."
As it turns out, the actress' daughter was in the audience, and Beckinsale told Kimmel not to embarrass her.
After cutting to the clearly-embarrassed teenager sitting in the crowd, Kimmel apologized for the awkwardness.
"I'm sorry! I had nothing to do with this! This is all her! This is your mother! Let's not ruin the crush thing. I want to keep that going, OK?" Kimmel said. "Thank you very much. I appreciate it. I'm flattered."
Addressing Beckinsale, Kimmel asked if she ever had a crush on a "middle-aged, out of shape, hairy talk show host," and the actress said that she likely did.
"I do think it's a phase, the not-conventionally attractive man phase," she quipped. "Not that that's your category! You know what I mean!"
"Oh, sadly, I do know what you mean," Kimmel replied.

When she was younger, Beckinsale said, she used to have a crush on tennis great Boris Becker, and she was young enough to think her unrequited love actually had an impact on his game.
"I was still at that kind of magical thinking phase where I felt like I could sort of control things with my mind. I feel like I helped him win Wimbledon just by sort of squeezing my uterus a lot," she shared. "I was so desperate I could literally sort of feel my fallopian tubes going into a ball. Then he'd keep getting a shot, and I thought it was me!"
