Kate Walsh shows off her new haircut on the cover of TV Guide magazine and ET is behind the scenes for all the fashion action!
A special crossover episode of "Private Practice" and "Grey's Anatomy" begins tonight at 10 p.m. -- and is the focus of the cover -- when Addison's (Walsh) brother Archer (Grant Show) suffers a seizure so severe that it is determined that only Dr. Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey) has the necessary skill to perform the required brain surgery. So, Addison makes a return to Seattle Grace Hospital and asks her ex to save her brother's life.
"It is an emergent medical case," Kate tells TV Guide. "It is not Red Rover, Red Rover [please come over]. It is a storyline that makes sense, that only Derek can do, and us all together as friends. You forget, all these people went to medical school together -- [Addison, Derek, Archer, Naomi (Audra McDonald), Sam (Taye Diggs) and Mark (Eric Dane)]. It is great to see all these characters interacting."
On "Private Practice," Addison recently broke up with her cop boyfriend, and the actress says she likes having her character have all these different dating experiences. "I think that is real. Particularly here in L.A. that is apt. ...People want to see working relationships. Who that is I am not sure. Clooney probably wants to get back on the tube," she jokes of the former hot "ER" doc.
"Private Practice" airs tonight at 10 p.m. on ABC, and Kate's TV Guide magazine cover is currently on newsstands.
