Mission Completed. Buzz Aldrin's ballroom career was grounded when he and partner Ashly Costa were voted off "Dancing with the Stars" on Tuesday.

Not surprised with the result, the historic astronaut told ET, "I didn't start out with a big advantage over everybody else. I had to overcome considerable obstacles--age, may be one of them. Physical agility, whether I learn things fast or not."

His new friends Erin Andrews and Maksim Chmerkovskiy have fond memories and respect of their elder "mentor." Erin said, "I think one of the cool things Buzz set out to do was just kind of put the space program in everybody's lingo, every day lives." The newly enlightened Maks agreed, saying, "He added value to just the common knowledge."

Erin may meet sports superstars on a daily basis in her job as an ESPN reporter, but when it comes to Buzz, she said enthusiastically, "We met a guy that landed on the moon!"

The remaining couples get outfitted in another round of sequins when "Dancing with the Stars" returns on Monday night on ABC.
