The former "Bachelor" Jake Pavelka faced off with ex-fiancée Vienna Girardi in their first interview together since their split, an interaction that led to Vienna sobbing and storming off set.
The two made an appearance during the airing of "The Bachelorette," and Jake spoke with host Chris Harrison prior to Vienna joining them. "I don't have anything to fear. I didn't do anything wrong," he told Chris. "Just to be honest, I'm still processing this. ... I come home and I'm on the cover of five magazines. ... I wasn't ready to quit fighting. ... I cannot even fathom her doing this to me."
Vienna entered and was asked to take a seat next to Jake. She then explained that their relationship was on the right track in the beginning. "The first month we were together was great. He was crazy about me, then it went straight downhill."
She said of going to the tabloids, "I wasn't bashing Jake's character or accusing him of anything. I was just laying things out." The fighting then erupted with Jake telling Vienna, "I'm so mad at you. I'm so disgusted with you. You sold me out to a magazine."
Tension continued to build throughout the interview as Jake repeatedly asked Vienna to stop interrupting him. "She's asking why there's not intimacy, this is it. She undermines me, she breaks me down," he said of his ex. "What guy in America can be with a woman that undermines and emasculates him and doesn't respect [him]? ... She's like a tabloid. You get 40 percent of the truth." He continued, "To me, there's more in a relationship than just sex and intimacy.
Meanwhile, an emotional Vienna told Chris that this isn't the first time she's tried to end things with Jake. "I've tried to give him the ring back twice. ... It was a break up and I was leaving." Jake said that these weren't break ups but rather Vienna throwing "little temper tantrums."
Chris asked the couple to tell him what they liked about each other when those chose to get engaged on "The Bachelor." Jake went first, saying, "She was, at that point, supportive and loving and very trustworthy and witty and interesting and entertaining." Vienna then answered, "He was genuine at that time. ... He smiled, he hugged me, he wanted to be with me. ... After the show, that went away. He wasn't compassionate. It went away. He didn't even try."
She said of Jake's stint on "Dancing with the Stars," "The entire time he was on "DWTS," he never acknowledged me." When asked if she thinks Jake will ever find a woman, she responded "absolutely not." Jake said, "I'm sure Chris that I don't want a selfish woman."
Vienna did have one apology for Jake, telling him, "I am sorry that I went about it the way I did but I know you, the real you, and I know you would've done it if I didn't." Jake reacted to this answer but Vienna chimed in. This led to Jake yelling at her not to interrupt him.
In tears, Vienna got up, ran offset and was heard sobbing in her dressing room. Jake said of the outburst, "Unfortunately, that is what one of our arguments looks like. ... Chris, in my life I have never been in a relationship where I have raised my voice. ... It just gets to a point where you can't get a word in."
