DONNA SUMMER is releasing Crayons, her first album of all-new material in 17 years, on May 20, and the legendary former disco queen sat down exclusively with our own MARY HART in the music studio to deliver the 411!

The "Hot Stuff" and "Last Dance" singer -- who will perform live on the ET stage on Tuesday, May 20 -- gets candid about her private problems early in her career, struggling with "severe depression" and admitting to a suicide attempt in the late '70s.

"It sort of snuck up on me," the multiple-Grammy winner tells Mary. "I had my daughter, and during that period my marriage broke up, and I was alone. I was staying up at night, and I would go out and work, and I was up with her and maybe getting two or three hours of sleep a day -- it was scary. I just couldn't deal with another minute of it. I was on my way out the window and got caught in the curtain. The maid opened the door at exactly that time. Thank God that lady came because I would be gone today."

While newly engaged ASHLEE SIMPSON has kept quiet about her upcoming wedding plans to fiance PETE WENTZ, her big sis JESSICA has let the cat out of the bag on one big detail! She will be Ashlee's maid of honor, reports People.

When asked if she will be standing next to Ashlee on her wedding day, Jessica replied, "Of course."

It was a night of musical heavyweights as BARBRA STREISAND, QUINCY JONES and others took the stage to honor ALAN and MARILYN BERGMAN with the ASCAP Founders Award at the 23rd annual film and television music awards.

The Bergmans credits include four Emmy Awards and three Academy Awards , in addition to two Grammys for their classic tune, "The Way We Were."

MADONNA announced the dates for her highly anticipated tour today, revealing that she will kick off her "Sticky and Sweet" tour on August 23 in Cardiff, Wales.

The worldwide tour, which will promote her new album Hard Candy, will also make stops in France, Germany the Netherlands and Italy. The Material Girl will make her first U.S. stop on October 3 in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The tour is set to conclude in Miami on November 26.

Tickets go on sale May 16.

Fresh off of his Broadway run in Monty Python's Spamalot, CLAY AIKEN just released his fourth studio album, On My Way Here. The album includes original songs, unlike the mostly cover tunes on his second and third albums, Merry Christmas with Love and A Thousand Different Ways, respectively.

In a recent interview with the Associated Press, of the album he says he's not trying to be like other artists: "I'm not trying to be JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE. Thank God we have him, but I'm not him. ... I'm not gonna bring anybody's sexy back."

AMY WINEHOUSE has been arrested for the second time this year, People.com reports.

"Amy Winehouse voluntarily attended a London police station today by appointment," her rep tells the mag. "She was arrested in order to be interviewed and is cooperating fully with inquiries. The interview relates to a video handed to police earlier this year."

The singer entered rehab at the end of January after video and stills surfaced that purportedly showed her using a crack pipe.

Following a rousing performance of his current single, "In Love with a Girl," on Tuesday's "REGIS and KELLY," GAVIN DEGRAW will embark on a frenzy of TV appearances in support of his self-titled second album, out now. DeGraw will appear on "The Early Show," "JIMMY KIMMEL Live," "ELLEN," and "Last Call with CARSON DAILY" before landing where it all started, "One Tree Hill."

"I Don't Want To Be," a single from his debut album, Chariot, has been the show's theme song since Gavin's appearance in the first season finale. Stricken from the opening credits this season, it seemed that DeGraw had overstayed his welcome. However, in its fifth season now, "One Tree Hill" is bringing Gavin back -- he will perform "I Don't Want To Be" live on the season finale, airing May 19.

ET's MARK STEINES had an exclusive all-access pass to see CHER at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace, where the music icon opened her new live show in Vegas Tuesday night.

And Mark was also the only reporter allowed to get a sneak peek at the show last week before it opened -- complete with a personal tour of her dressing room from Cher herself!

The JONAS BROTHERS are coming to a theater near you -- in 3-D!

"We can’t wait to start working on this film for our fans," the Jonas Brothers said in a statement.  "It's going to be awesome and we really want to bring a totally unique and different movie experience to everyone whether they've seen us live or not."

THE POLICE are about to cast their last message in a bottle. The legendary rock trio fronted by STING announced that they will play their final concert later this year in NYC, the Associated Press reports.

"We kicked off our very first American tour at (former New York club) CBGBs in 1978 and this summer, 30 years later, our journey will come full circle as we play our final show here in New York City," the band said in a statement.

Details of the gig have yet to be announced, but it's almost certain to sell out faster than you can say "De do do do, de da da da." The band behind such massive hits as "Roxanne," "Walking on the Moon," and "Every Breath You Take," the Police will be remembered for their five, classic albums, their signature reggae-tinged sound, and the catchy, oft-volatile "synchronicity" between bassist and songwriter Sting, guitarist ANDY SUMMERS, and drummer STEWART COPELAND.

Singer and comic cut-up JOHN MAYER rocked a cool feathered hairstyle at last night's Met Costume Institute Gala, taking us back to the days of MICHAEL J. FOX and COREY HAIM. On his personal blog, John reveals this is part of a personal style journey he's undertaking:

"Today I set off on my newest project; to grow and maintain an authentic '80s style feathered haircut. ET has the official paperwork, filed May 1, showing that DESTINY HOPE CYRUS is now MILEY RAY CYRUS -- a change that's been in the works since the beginning of this year.

The 15-year-old told our JANN CARL that she has always been called "Miley" by family and friends, so she wanted that to be her legal name, and chose "Ray" as her middle name because she wanted the same one as her dad.

JORDIN SPARKS sits down with ET to get the real story behind her throat condition, which forced the "American Idol" winner to cancel some shows recently and sparked rumors that it could threaten her career.

KANYE WEST stormed off the stage during a concert in Houston due to technical difficulties -- but the rapper insists it was not due to his ego as some critics have suggested.

"Don't believe the hype!" Kanye writes on his blog: "When I started the show the other night we were having a lot of technical issues due 2 the heat. The 2 huge screens on both sides of the stage were glaring bright blue like when your DVD player acts up at home. I asked for them 2 turn the screens off 3 times because it was distracting 2 the show. The fans were not getting what they paid for. I admit, in my frustration, I did use profanity on the 4th time I asked. I stopped the show 2 go over and check it out myself. After the screens were turned off I started the same song from the beginning. The screens were eventually fixed 5 songs in but it was definitely better 2 have them blacked out rather than bright blue.

He goes on to say that some members of the media "always try 2 make it seem like everything is about my ego! That joke is getting old. At a certain point you have 2 respect that I'm one of the last artists that still cares about the fans having the best time of [their] lives!"
