Salma Hayek is mourning a significant loss in her life. The 51-year-old actress took to Instagram on Wednesday to share the news that her beloved dog Lupe had passed away at the age of 18.

“With my heart filled with love and pain I had to say goodbye to my Lupe,” she captioned a photo of her cradling her pet. “I am so grateful for the 18 years she enriched my life with her great spirit. I have no words or tears to describe how much she meant to me. May she run free with my pack of dogs that are already waiting for her in dog heaven.”

On Thursday, Hayek shared another sweet photo of Lupe to thank her fans for their support.

“I am so moved by your beautiful words,” she began. “Your loving support has lift[ed] me up. I have never had so many comments. I may not have the most followers but I certainly have the best in the world.”

Last April Hayek shared the news that her dog, Blue, had tragically passed away, writing, “I understand he’s in a better place, but my eyes cry anyway.”

In March 2016, the actress’ dog Mozart was fatally shot after trespassing on a neighbor’s property.
