Kate Gosselin & Kids Have a Whale of a Time in Alaska

Kate Gosselin and her eight kids head to Alaska to check out the snow-covered mountains, huge glaciers and take a whale-watching boat trip -- and ET has a sneak peek of the upcoming episode of "Kate Plus 8," plus photos of their trip.

"So far our whale watching was slimmish to none," Kate says, while her gang waits to see some whale tails. "Never having seen whale tails before … you see calendar shots of whale tails sticking out from 10-feet away and you're thinking, 'Great, that's what we're going to see,' but there's no guarantee."

When the whales finally did show up, Alexis had trouble spotting them.

"I couldn't see them. They were far away," she says.

"Kate Plus 8: Alaska, Here We Come!" airs Sunday, Nov. 7 at 9 p.m. on TLC.
