Although she didn't expect to advance beyond the first week, Bristol Palin has progressed to the semi-finals on "Dancing with the Stars," and ET's Niecy Nash gave the "Dancing" contestant a tip for next week's dance - the Paso Doble.

According to Niecy, the Paso Doble calls for intensity, so the comedian coached Bristol on forming the appropriate facial expression for the dance.

"Thank me later," Niecy told Bristol, congratulating her on nailing the fierce look on the third attempt.

When Niecy caught up with Bristol on Tuesday she still hadn't updated her mom Sarah Palin on her "Dancing" status, so she sent a message via our ET camera, saying, "Mom, I made it."

Sarah has a new show on TLC called "Sarah Palin's Alaska," and Bristol hopes to take some time out of her busy rehearsing schedule to support the project's big premiere, saying, "It comes out on Sunday, so hopefully I'll have some people at my place and watch it."

Bristol and her partner Mark Ballas left Niecy with some parting words for the newest eliminated dancer Kurt Warner.

"He's such a great guy: so gracious, so humble, so sweet…" Mark Ballas told Niecy.

"We're going to miss you Kurt," said Bristol.

Watch an all-new "Dancing with the Stars" Monday on ABC.
